Thanks John for your feedback. I agree with some of your statements. I think that you are missing the fact that many of your links are actually in my article. In fact, I also wrote an extensive piece about FDA Appendix A. We have imported 3M KN95, so I am also aware of the earloop designs in them. Here is the major point that you are missing. Current KN95s are NOT equivalent to N95/NIOSH. They should be, but the majority of the current shipments out of China are not. The CDC is saying this and has proof of it. You probably did not read my last post that has this graph.
As of the time of that post, 99 respirators were tested by the CDC and only 36 of them met the definition of KN95. Nevermind that they don’t meet the same qualification as a surgical N95, they don’t even meet the qualification of KN95 (filter performance of 95% or greater).
Americans are accustomed to Chinese counterfeits or low-quality goods. This is one that can kill a medical provider. I now have four colleagues that have died due to COVID-19. I hope you are well.
