PPE for teachers

Dr. Fauci said “ Close the bars and keep the schools open “ to cut down on the spread of the virus. As the schools start opening, we find our educators in the “front-line” position during this pandemic. We recently surveyed over a hundred teachers in Illinois and 80% commented that their school districts do not provide enough proper PPE.

Here are the facts:

There is an increasing call to get our teachers vaccinated as soon as possible. This is a great solution. Until then, what can we do?

Donate PPE for your teachers

You can do what we’ve been doing: donate PPE to your local schools. My daughter attends a twice a week in-person school session. After speaking with the principal, we saw the need and decided to donate quality KN95 for teachers. Then, we decided to donate more to other schools that were in need.

This fits the mission of PPE Connector. However, we are not made of money and cannot provide every school free respirators that they request. So this is where YOU step in. Do what we’ve done. Raise money and use the money to provide quality PPE for your teachers. Here are the simple steps:

  1. Contact your PTA leaders and decide that this is an important cause.
  2. Contact your local school office staff and find out how many staff members are currently in-person.
  3. Calculate one respirator per week multiplied by the number of staff members to get an estimate of your respirator needs.
  4. Start a PTA GoFundMe campaign and raise money.
  5. Through PPE Connector, we are providing FDA authorized Appendix A KN95 respirator for 35 cents per mask. If you find a better deal, then use your source and purchase quality respirators for your teachers. (But, please check your PPE on our PPE fraud alert)

You might ask why we are giving one respirator per teacher per week? Data seems to suggest that respirators can successfully be sterilized using a rice cooker.

Some people may question why we are providing KN95 to teachers when health care workers are in short supply. You might not believe it, but there is a huge amount of KN95 and N95 that is available in the world market right now. We’ve been vetting and connecting PPE to hospitals and organizations that need it since March pro bono. If you hear that healthcare workers are short on PPE in the news, then please understand that it is not due to a world supply shortage problem.

So, there you have it. The health of your local teachers and students is in your hands. What are you going to do about it?

Start your PTA GoFundMe Campaign for PPE today.
